I grew up in a family of creative people and always knew that I wanted to be an artist. I have a mother and sister that are both very talented painters and a brother who is an accomplished musician. At age twelve I was given the opportunity to start seriously studying painting at an art studio in Houston. After years of studio classes and teachers, I began participating in workshops given by other professional artists in Texas. I learned many techniques in oil, watercolors, and acrylics that I still incorporate today. I started selling my art as a teenager in shows and festivals in the Houston area and then in other parts of south and central Texas.

My desire to be an artist as a career was put on hold until recently due to other career decisions and then the birth of my son who has autism. I am still the primary caretaker for my special child, so I am very excited to be able to show and sell my art through Artist Rising and my website. This allows me to continue using my creative side while still taking care of my son. Due to my personal connection with autism, 5% of the artist’s profits will be donated to charities dedicated to the treatment and prevention of autism.
